Class Descriptions

  • 16 Longevity Exercises

Practicing the Wang Ji Wu 16 Longevity Exercises regularly brings numerous health benefits. It can improve circulation, flexibility, and balance, strengthen the immune system, and enhance overall physical fitness. The exercises are performed in a slow, gentle, and flowing manner, emphasizing relaxation, proper body alignment, and deep breathing.

    Spherical Exercises

Spherical qigong exercises help improve flexibility, strength, and balance. They promote joint mobility, circulation, and the release of tension in the muscles and connective tissues. Regular practice can enhance posture, coordination, and body awareness. By moving energy in circular patterns, practitioners stimulate the channels and encourage the smooth flow of qi. This can result in increased vitality, improved organ function, and a sense of inner balance.

    5 Elements Qigong

5 Phases Qigong is a traditional Chinese practice that focuses on cultivating and balancing the five elements—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water—within the body. Each phase in 5 Phases Qigong is associated with specific organs, meridians (energy pathways), emotions, and qualities. By engaging in specific movements, breathwork, visualizations, and meditations associated with each element, practitioners seek to cultivate and balance the corresponding energies within themselves.

  • Vinyasa Flow with Amanda Amadei links together traditional hatha yoga asana into creative sequences that are different each time. Benefits include increased flexibility, strength, cardiovascular endurance, balance, agility, and awareness.

  • At Valley Spirit, we believe in cultivating not only physical prowess but also inner strength and character.

Self-discipline: We emphasize the importance of self-discipline in every aspect of training. Through the practice of Gongfu, children learn to set goals, stay focused, and persevere, both on and off the training floor. Discipline is the foundation upon which all other skills are built.

Community: Our school is more than just a place to train—it's a supportive community where children can grow and thrive together. In our classes, they'll forge friendships, learn to collaborate and develop a sense of belonging. We foster an environment of mutual respect and encouragement, where everyone is valued and supported.

Respect: Respect is at the core of martial arts philosophy. In our classes, children learn to respect themselves, their peers, their instructors, and the art of Gongfu itself. They'll learn the importance of humility, integrity, and treating others with kindness and compassion.

Healing through movement: While Gongfu is often associated with combat, our focus is on using movement as a tool for healing and self-improvement. Children will learn to channel their energy in positive ways, using Gongfu to build strength, flexibility, and resilience. Through mindful practice, they'll cultivate a deeper awareness of their bodies and minds, promoting overall well-being and balance.

In our Kid's Gongfu Class, the emphasis is not on fighting but on personal growth, self-discovery, and the journey toward mastery. Whether your child is looking to build confidence, improve focus, or simply have fun, our classes offer a supportive and enriching environment for them to thrive.

  • This 6-class series is designed for students of all ages to learn basic skills in all elements of Capoeira - movement, music, and the roda (game strategy). No experience with any other organized sport, dance, martial art, etc. is required.
